According to the statistics, 2,448 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$6,718,301,000 were approved from January to November 2021. This indicates a decrease of 22.46% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 17.57% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2020.
With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 37 cases were approved with an amount of US$46,047,000 from January to November 2021. This indicates a decrease of 56.47% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 62.86% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2020. From July 2009 to November 2021, 1,498 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,457,329,000.
In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 371 projects were registered from January to November 2021 with a total amount of US$9,723,945,000, indicating an decrease of 21.73% in the number of cases, but a increase of 22.69% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2020.
As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 388 applications have been approved from January to November 2021, indicating a decrease of 12.81% compared to the same period of 2020. The approved investment amount is US$4,792,079,000, 14.47% less than the same period in 2020.
