Export Processing Zone Administration approved three investment projects on May 24, 2012: Taichung Software Park welcomes investment with attractive incentives

The Export Processing Zone Administration held an investment review meeting on May 24 this year during which time it approved three investment projects totaling NT$59 million. These projects will create approximately 42 new job opportunities. The three projects will be implemented in Kaohsiung Science Park and Kaohsiung Software Technology Park and are outlined below:
1. Hwe Tech Inc. is to invest NT$37 million in Kaohsiung Software Technology Park to design customized compressed air automatic control system and energy-saving system integration solutions and introduce the relevant technologies.
2. Molecule Technology International Limited is to invest NT$12 million in Kaohsiung Software Technology Park to develop products incorporating nano materials and high polymer materials.
3. The Japanese electronics firm, Shiima Electronics Inc., is to invest NT$10 million in Kaohsiung Science Park to establish a Taiwan subsidiary manufacturing copper-clad laminate and polyimide processing.
In addition, Liang, the head of the Investment Section of the Administration, indicates that construction of Taichung Software Park began on May 15, a move which will boost Taiwan’s soft economy. In the future, Taichung Software Park and the software industries in Taipei and Kaohsiung will form a ‘golden triangle’ of innovation.
Taichung Software Park is located in Dali, Taichung and occupies an area of 4.96 hectares. The Park is created specifically for the information software industry. It has several advantages that include an ideal location, convenient living conditions, ample academic and research resources, and an abundant supply of water, electricity, and talented professionals. The Park has begun soliciting investments and welcomes businesses in the information, communication, and service industries, culture and creativity industries (including digital content), Chinese-language e-commerce industry, cloud industry, and knowledge-intensive industries such as the design, research and development, and testing industries to make investments and establish a presence in the park.
