Cadence is a leading electronic design automation(EDA) and Intelligent System Design provider delivering hardware, software, and IP for electronic design. It is the bridge between IC design and manufacturing, and helps customers turn their electronic design concepts into reality.
Taiwan has a complete end-to-end semiconductor industry chain led by companies, such as TSMC, and Cadence Taiwan plays an important role in the innovation based on this industry advantage. As Taiwan's semiconductor industry has become more important, Cadence Taiwan has increased its employees more than six-fold over the past years. This is an example that Cadence continues to focus its efforts in Taiwan.
Cadence is the only EDA company that offers seamless design flow solutions for ICs, packages and circuit boards covered by system design. Cadence recently formed a new ""Multiphysics System Analysis Business Group,"" which is a business unit that conducts research on optimizing thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical design. 3D-IC is a development trend that has attracted great attention, and vertically integrates multiple chips in three-dimensional space, in hopes of making a breakthrough in spatial limitations. Cadence Taiwan will invest even more resources in response to the above mentioned trend and will expand heterogeneous integration and business opportunities for applications of 3D-IC technology.
Cadence is an EDA company that focuses on the design of software that better meets users' needs. As a software company where employees are the biggest asset, Cadence recruited talent from different fields and developed their interdisciplinary ability to quickly understand customer needs. Cadence provides support and technology during the initial stage of product development and works with customers jointly to develop next generation products. Hence, the diversity of its human resources is exceptionally important to Cadence.
Cadence Taiwan has dedicated its efforts to talent cultivation, and engages in industry-academia collaboration, working with numerous schools in organizing semiconductor-related events, providing summer internship opportunities, and promoting the Cadence Academic Network. Cadence has expanded the scope of talent cultivation related to electrical engineering to talent in physics, mathematics, chemistry, materials and other disciplines.
Cadence understands that many Cadence employees value flexibility and views 2023 as an opportunity to pilot new approaches to where we do our work. We heard feedback in an internal employee survey that most employees would like to combine a number of days in each week working from the office and working remotely. Cadence Taiwan began to launch a new phase of hybrid work pilot in our workplace to better help their employees reduce commuting time, offer more flexibility to take care of family members in need. It also used different methods for teams to work closer than ever before. Despite entering the post-pandemic era with workplace back to normal in terms of working from the office, Cadence Taiwan continues to encourage employees to seek better work-life balance and extended new office space. Cadence hopes that the new work model and people-first culture will maintain the company's productivity.
