In 2000, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has established the Industries Assistance Center to provide industry-related consulting services. In 2006, to improve its services, the government began to integrate incentive and consulting information from offices under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (including the Administration of Commerce, Department of Industrial Technology, Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration, International Trade Administration, Department of Investment Promotion, and Central Region Office), to plan and build the Gateway to Business Assistance, which allows enterprises to utilize resources more efficiently. The Gateway to Business Assistance was completed near the end of 2007. The Industries Assistance Center began offering integrated one-stop services and later included corporation incentive program information from the Energy Administration and the Department of Investment Promotion in 2010. The Gateway to Business Assistance is the largest government incentive program information websites in Taiwan.
Manufacturing, service industries, research institutions, and even the general public and individual inventors can access the following service features through the website: Corporate incentive consulting information disclosure and inquiries, check the status of online applications and cases, cross-office government inspections, MIT smile mark certification system; browse project consultation strategies related to intellectual properties and evaluate intellectual properties management and the potential in industrializing intellectual properties through the patent industrialization page.
In the future, the Gateway to Business Assistance will include more incentive resources to provide more efficient and convenient services; it will also combine with the Ministry of Economic Affairs' industry consulting resources to become the government's consolidated enterprise service platform.
